Worcester League 3rd XI: Bromsgrove 188 for 6 off 50 overs v Old Hill 142 for 9 off 50 overs (DRAW)
On a bright but breezy Satrurday at Bromsgrove, Old Hill won the toss and elected to put Bromsgrove into bat. Initially runs seemed hard to achieve and with an early wicket Old Hill looked to be in control. However Bromsgrove were made of sterner stuff and soon pushed forward with another 68 runs being scored before the next wicket was taken. Continuing on Old Hill found gaining wickets very difficult and with Tom Hill (30), Harry Smith (17*) and Matt Banham (21*) pushing them on to their finishing total of 188 for 6 off 50 overs.
With Old Hill taking to the bat the fine weather remained and Old Hill started their innings knowing that some good scoring would be required. Starting out well the opening pair of Ifikar Ali (10) & Tom Genders made 32 before losing their first wicket. Things went well for the home team from this point with a further 3 wickets being lost in quick order. Trying to retain their composure Old Hill struggled for very few runs from the mid-order batsmen and entering the last 8 overs looked like not being able to reach the Losing Draw score. However with some excellent batting between Joel Foster (17*) and Nathan Davies (19) Old hill were able to push everything forward and with Lewis Javaid coming is as last man managed to hold out and retain a Losing Draw for a total of 142 for 9 off 50 overs.
