Pershore 167 – 8 (2 points) lost to Old Hill 170 – 2 (20 points)
by 8 wickets

Old Hill Third XI travelled to Pershore for their opening game and having won the toss asked the hosts to bat first. Thanks to an excellent spell of bowling by Danny Clayes (4 – 28) and some very good fielding, they were restricted to 167 – 8 off their 45 overs. Old Hill made a good start to their innings and batted well throughout their reply with Neil Pestridge scoring 45 and Joe Thorn ending on 89 not out as the visitors won by 8 wickets to claim 20 points.

Stone (5 points) v Old Hill (5 points) Match Abandoned.
The scheduled Third XI game at Shenstone was called off early on Saturday morning due to a waterlogged ground at Stone.

15th May 2010
Old Hill 197 - 7 (4 points) lost to Vine 199 - 3 (20 points).
The Third XI lost the toss against Vine and were asked to take first knock at Wassell Grove and made 197 – 7 off their 45 overs with young Joe Thorn (107) scoring a superb century. The match went down to the wire with the visitors reaching their victory target with just two balls to spare being assisted along the way in their runs chase as the home side youngsters dropped 7 catches.

22nd may 2010
Old Hill (14 pts) 235 – 6 drew with Cleobury Mortimer (8 pts) 209 – 6
The 3rd XI batted first against Cleobury Mortimer at Wassell Grove and thanks to good scores from George Derham (45), Neil Pestriddge (38) and an excellent 98 not out from veteran Steve Derham; who just failed to reach his century due to the intervention of a lightening pylon positioned just inside the boundary line. The home side posted a good total of 235 – 6 off 45 overs. In reply the visitors were never quite in the hunt for victory finishing 209 – 6 from their allotted overs, with the home side securing a creditable winning draw.

Old Hill (20pts) 159 – 6 beat Netherton (4pts) 158 by 4 wickets
Netherton hosted Old Hill 3rd XI at Chaddesley Corbett, and having lost the toss batted first scoring 158 all out from their allocated overs with Omar Lewis taking 4 for 37, and Mitch Jeffrey 3 for 39. In reply the visitors batted positively with Steve Derham (37), George Derham (35) and Mitch Jeffrey ending the match on 35 not out to complete a good all round personal performance and see Old Hill home by 4 wickets.

5th June 2010
Old Hill 160 – 2 (20 points) beat Hallow 159 (2 points) by 8 wickets
Having inserted the opposition at Wassell Grove, Old Hill Third XI bowled Hallow out for 159 runs in 43 overs with Mitch Jeffery (3 – 17) and Danny Clayes (3 – 15) being the main wicket takers. Old Hill’s reply was dominated by a partnership between father Steve Derham (55 n.o.) and son George Derham (59 n.o.) as the home side raced to victory with 9 overs and 8 wickets in hand.

12th June
Knighton-on-Teme (1 point) 113 lost to Old Hill (20 points) 115 – 4 by 6 wickets
Having won the toss, Old Hill Third XI invited Knighton to bat first at Wassell Grove and they were bowled out for 113 runs in 44 overs with Mitch Jeffery 4 – 12 and Steve Derham
2 – 24, the main wicket takers. In reply, the hosts reached 115 – 4 wickets with Neil Pestridge unbeaten on 54 to win the game by 6 wickets with 21 overs remaining.

26th June
Old Hill (7 points) 168 – 9 drew with West Malvern (15 points) 190 – 8.
The Third XI game at Wassell Grove against West Malvern was marred by an injury to Old Hill Captain Maurice Whyte who sustained a broken finger while acting as stand-in wicket keeper. Batting first, the visitors totalled 190 – 8 wickets off their 45 overs with George Derham 4 – 49, Omar Lewis 2 – 15 and Neil Pestridge 2 – 31 being the pick of the hosts bowlers. Old Hill’s reply started badly and they were in trouble at 65 – 6 wickets. Having returned from hospital with his finger strapped up, Maurice Whyte did his best to hold the innings together with the help of Steve Derham (52) and Omar Lewis (29) but with his dismissal it was left to 14 year old Nathan Davies assisted by young Danny Clayes, to save the match by defending manfully for the last 6 overs to force a draw.

3rd July
Old Hill (24 points) 103 – 1 beat Pershore (0 points) 99 by 9 wickets.
The Third XI produced a very good all round performance at Wassell Grove against Pershore. Batting first, the visitors were shot out for 99 runs in only 30 overs by Old Hill’s bowlers with Omar Lewis taking 5 – 14 and Joel Foster being responsible for three run-outs. In reply, the home side quickly lost the wicket of Neil Pestridge before Chris Round (52 not out) guided Old Hill home after only 15 overs to claim a 24 point victory.

10th July
Old Hill (3 points) 119 lost to Stone (24 points) 181 – 8 by 62 runs.
The Third XI, by their own admission, had a ‘bad day at the office’ as they suffered defeat against Stone at Wassell Grove after a seven game unbeaten run. Old Hill invited the visitors to bat first and they scored 181 – 8 wickets off their 45 overs with Neil Pestridge the best bowler with 3 – 13. In reply, Old Hill were all out for 119 runs with Reece Shilvock (30) the top scorer as they fell 62 runs short of their target.

17th July
Vine (7 points) 224 – 6 lost to Old Hill (20 points) 225 – 7 by 3 wickets.
Having won the toss, Old Hill Third XI chose to field in their away game at Vine’s Blackpole ground and a combination of good steady bowling and fielding restricted the home side to
224 – 6 wickets off 45 overs. Old Hill batted well in reply with Joe Thorn (78) and Steve Derham (39) being the leading scorers in a total of 225 – 7 wickets off 43 – 2 overs to win the game by 3 wickets and move above the home side into second place in the League Table to get themselves in contention for promotion.

Saturday 24th July
Cleobury Mortimer (13 pts) 155 – 8 drew with Old Hill (8 points) 183 - 8.
The Third XI drew their match away at Cleobury Mortimer in a rain affected game. Batting first, Old Hill totalled 183 – 3 wickets off their 45 overs thanks to good scores from Joe Thorn (78), Mitch Jeffery (38) and Reece Shilvock (24) before the weather intervened. Cleobury Mortimer’s reply was interrupted by rain as they set about reaching their target and all of the visitors bowlers got amongst the wickets as the hosts innings were reduced to 38 overs. At this stage, Cleobury Mortimer’s score stood at 155 – 8 wickets thus gaining them a winning draw with a fractionally faster run rate.

Saturday 31st July
Cutnall Green (3 points) 104 – 8 drew with Old Hill (16 points) 196 - 7.
The Third XI produced a good performance to gain a winning draw away at Cutnall Green. Batting first, the visitors scored 196 – 7 wickets from their 45 overs with Nick Cousins (46 not out), Winston Lewis (44) and Jon Baig Jnr. (39) being the leading run makers. Then with some tight bowling by Mitch Jeffery 4 – 31, Luke Fisher 1 – 12 off 10 overs and Winston Lewis 3 – 20, an excellent all round personal performance, the home side were never in the hunt for victory but held out for a draw, finishing on 104 – 8 wickets off their 45 overs.  

Saturday 7th August
Hallow (24 points) 200 – 7 beat Old Hill (6 points) 183 by 17 runs.
The Third XI lost their game away at Hallow by just 17 runs in a below par performance. Captain Maurice Whyte won the toss and chose to field with the home side scoring 200 – 7 wickets off their 45 overs with Jon Baig being Old Hill’s best bowler with 3 – 40. The visitors were then bowled out for 183 runs with Winston Lewis (82) and Jon Baig (40) the only batsmen to get going as Old Hill lost a close fought game they could have won with better application.

Saturday 14th August
Knighton-on-Teme (0 points) 43 lost to Old Hill (20 points) 44 – 0 by 10 wickets.
The Third XI had much better luck in their game away at Newnham Bridge against Knighton-on-Teme. Having won the toss, Old Hill chose to field in view of the overnight rain that the ground had absorbed prior to the start. The visitors’ bowlers struck straight away and gave the home side no respite as they were bowled out for a meagre 43 runs in 17.4 overs with Winston Lewis taking 6 wickets for 10 runs off 8.4 overs and Luke Fisher 2 – 10 off 6 overs, being the leading wicket-takers. Before Old Hill could begin their reply, there was a heavy shower of rain but this did not dampen the visitors’ desire to press for a quick victory as opening batsmen Chris Round (33 not out) and Jon Baig Jnr, propelled Old Hill towards their target in 4.2 overs as Old Hill won by 10 wickets to keep alive their chances of promotion.

Saturday 21st August
Old Hill (5 points) v Netherton (5 points) Match Abandoned.
The Third XI game due to take place at Wassell Grove against Netherton was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to the overnight bad weather and persistent showers during the afternoon.

Saturday 28th August
West Malvern (5 points) 152 lost to Old Hill (24 points) 219 – 7 by 67 runs.
The Third XI visited promotion rivals West Malvern in their final game of the season and having lost the toss were invited to bat by the hosts. They posted a very competitive total of 219 for the loss of 7 wickets off their 45 overs thanks to a big century partnership between Chris Round (107) and Reece Shilvock (62). Then thanks to a brilliant display in the field, the hosts found it difficult to put any major partnerships together as they were bowled out for 152 in 43.4 overs with young Nick Couzens (3 wickets) and Chris Round (2 wickets) being the main contributors with the ball as Old Hill ended the season in runners-up position in the League Table with an excellent victory by 67 runs.
