Old Hill Fourths 116 – 8 lost to Feckenham Thirds 117 – 0 by 10 wickets
The Knockout Cup First Round match at Wassell Grove was played out in very poor conditions with the game being reduced to 25 overs per side. Old Hill lost the toss and were asked to bat first but could only manage a total of 116 – 8 wickets off their allotted overs with Jonty Preece top scoring with 31 runs. In reply, a very strong Feckenham side cruised to their victory target of 117 without losing a wicket to progress to the next round of the competition.

Harborne Sixths conceded to Old Hill Fourths in the Plate Competition
The Fourth XI and holders are through to the semi-final of the Plate Competition for the second year running after Harborne Sixths conceded the match due to take place at Old Church Avenue.

Old Hill (24 pts) 199 – 9 beat Harborne (4pts) 66 by 133 runs
The 4th XI won the toss and chose to bat first scoring 199 – 9 from their 45 overs with Anthony Foster and Steve Elsworth getting them off to a good start with a half century opening partnership. They had excellent backing from Nathan Davies (53) and captain Irshad Ahmed with a quickfire 32 from just 15 balls. Harborne were then skittled out for a paltry 66 with youngsters Lewis Javaid 2 – 15, Izzy Khan 3 – 17 and Jon Baig Jnr 2 – 2 doing most of the damage as the visitors ran out. Winners by 133 runs to take a maximum 24 points in their first League game of the season.

Old Hill (5pts) v Hallow (5pts) Match Abandoned
The scheduled 4th XI game due to take place at Wassell Grove against Hallow was called off early on Saturday morning with the ground water logged.

Feckenham 184 (15 points) drew with Old Hill 131 – 8 (7 points).
The Fourth XI lost the toss away at Feckenham where the home side chose to bat first. They scored 184 all out off 36 overs with Captain Irshad Ahmed taking 5 wickets for 39 runs. Steady batting by the visitors youngsters and a stubborn innings of 52 not out by Steve Elsworth, saw Old Hill hold out for a creditable draw against a much more experienced home side, finishing their innings 50 runs short of their target on 131 – 8 wickets.
12th June
Stourport (13 points) 197 – 8 drew with Old Hill (8 points) 175 – 6.
Taking first knock at the New Elizabethan Ground, Stourport Fourth XI totalled 197 – 8 off their 45 overs with Joel Foster (4 – 34) and Captain Irshad Ahmed (3 – 41) bowling very well for Old Hill Fourths. The visitors batting second reached 175 – 6 wickets at the end of their 45 overs to draw the game with Ryan Dimmock (45) the top scorer. This was an excellent result as the visitors were handicapped throughout, being one man short!
26th June
Worcester Nomads (6 points) 221 – 7 lost to Old Hill (24 points) 224 – 5 by 5 wickets.
The Fourth XI played away at Worcester Nomads on a very hot and tiring afternoon for the youngsters and restricted their hosts to 221 – 7 wickets off their 45 overs with Joel Foster taking 3 – 38. The visitors then produced an excellent batting display led by Jon Baig Jnr (44) and Hamza Ahmed (96 not out) who carried his bat and hit the winning runs. Needing 4 runs to win off the last ball, Hamza, who celebrated his 14th birthday two weeks ago, proceeded to hit the ball for 6 and lead Old Hill to a memorable 5 wicket victory against the previously unbeaten League leaders.
3rd July
Pershore (0 points) conceded to Old Hill (24 points).
The Fourth XI game due to take place at Staveley Lane, Eckington ground was conceded by Pershore and Old Hill picked up a maximum 24 points.
10th July
Hallow (0 points) conceded to Old Hill (24 points).
Yet again, the Fourth XI game due to take place at Main Road, was conceded by Hallow so Old Hill pick up another maximum 24 point haul. This means that they have collected 72 points in their last three scheduled fixtures.
17th July
Pedmore (0 points) conceded to Old Hill (24 points).
Once again, the Fourth XI game due this week to take place at Wassell Grove was conceded by their opponents giving them another maximum 24 point haul. They have now accumulated 96 points in the last four scheduled games to move themselves into second place in the League Table which gives the youngsters a great chance of promotion.
This result means that all four teams lie in second place in their respective Leagues – keep it up lads.
Saturday 24th july
Old Hill (4 points) 172 lost to Harborne (20 points) 173 - 5.
The Fourth XI’s charge to the top of the League Table was halted by a strong Harborne team in their game at Wassell Grove. Batting first, Old Hill’s Jon Baig Jnr (46), Nick Cousins (36) and Captain Irshad Ahmed (32) were the major scorers in their total of 172 all out against some very hostile Harborne bowling. In reply, the visitors senior players were aided in their quest for victory by 11 dropped catches as the hosts youngsters were feeling the pressure and they ran out winners by 5 wickets after being 9 – 3 wickets at the start of their innings. Irshad Ahmed was Old Hill’s best bowler with 3 – 16.
Saturday 31st July
Old Hill (3 points) 109 lost to Stourport (24 points) 249 – 7 by 140 runs.
Going into the game at Wassell Grove with a seriously weakened team, the Fourth XI were comfortably beaten by Stourport although their cause was not helped by the number of catches which were put down by the inexperienced youngsters. Batting first, the visitors posted a formidable total of 249 – 7 wickets off 45 overs with Richard Lloyd taking 2 – 46 off 12 overs and Lewis Javaid 2 – 39 off 10 overs. In reply, the hosts were all out for 109 runs with Captain Irshad Ahmed (34) the only major scorer as Old Hill lost by 140 runs.
Saturday 7th August
Old Hill (20 points) 105 – 4 beat Feckenham (1 point) 103 by 6 wickets.
The Fourth XI’s home game was moved to Stone due to the unavailability of the Wassell Grove venue but the youngsters secured a very good victory by 6 wickets in a rain affected game to keep themselves in contention for promotion. Batting first, Feckenham scored 103 all out in 30 overs with young Richard Lloyd taking 6 wickets for 6 runs off 3.3 overs including a “hat-trick” in a magnificent spell of bowling. In reply, Old Hill reached their target for the loss of only 4 wickets in 33 overs to win the game by 6 wickets with Jack Parkes (24), Nathan Davies (16) and Ryan Dimmock (28 not out) seeing the “home” team to victory.
Saturday 14th August
Old Hill (5 points) v Worcester Nomads (5 points) – Match Abandoned.
After a delayed start at Wassell Grove, the Fourth XI game against Worcester Nomads looked like getting underway as Old Hill lost the toss and were put in to bat but before a ball was bowled the rains returned and the match was abandoned. They are now likely to finish third in their Division – narrowly missing out on promotion for the second season running.

The Fourth XI game due to take place at Eckington against Pershore was conceded by their opponents giving them a maximum 24 points return in their last scheduled League game.
Saturday 28th August
Hallow Second XI 119 (32 overs) lost to Old Hill 121 – 7 (27 overs) by 3 wickets.
The Fourth XI met Hallow Second XI in the semi-final of the Plate Competition away at Main Road and having won the toss chose to field. Hallow got off to a very good start and at the drinks break were on 102 – 0 wickets. On resumption, the Old Hill bowlers came roaring back led by Imran Mateen and Richard Lloyd with 4 wickets each as Old Hill took all 10 wickets for the addition of only 17 runs as Hallow were bowled out for a mere 119 runs in 32 overs. Old Hill’s reply was led by Imran Mateen (34) as they reached their target in 27 overs for the loss of 7 wickets to reach the final for the second year in succession, as they aim to retain their trophy.
