Saturday 30th April
Cleobury Mortimer (20 points) 150 – 1 beat Old Hill (1 point) 148 – 9 by 9 wickets.
The Fourth XI were away at Cleobury Mortimer and also paid their respects to colleague Neil Pestridge. Having lost the toss, they were put in to bat and found the going very difficult. They completed their innings on 148 – 9 wickets off their 45 overs with Ryan Dimmock top scoring with 51 not out, his maiden half century for Old Hill, and Jonny Baig Jnr made 36. In reply, the hosts lost just one wicket as they raced to victory, Leach scoring 44 and Tovey 62 not out in the winning total of 150 – 1 wicket.
Saturday 7 May
Old Hill (5 points) 67 lost to Halesowen (24 points) 177 by 110 runs.
The Fourth XI game at Wassell Grove started late due to the overnight rain but when it did get underway the experienced Halesowen XI batted first on a difficult wicket and were all out for 177 off 42.1 overs. The very young home side were no match for the visitors as they were bowled out for 67 in 23.4 overs with Izzy Khan (19) and Irshad Ahmed (14) the only batsmen to reach double figures as Old Hill lost by 110 runs.

Hanley Castle (12 points) 122 – 5 drew with Old Hill (6 points) 168 - 8.
Again, the Fourth XI game away at Hanley Castle was badly affected by the weather. Batting first, Old Hill scored 168 – 8 wickets from their allotted 45 overs with Iffy Khan (42) and Jon Baig Jnr (40) being the leading scorers. The home side needed to score 112 off 30 overs to gain a winning draw and they managed 122 – 5 at the close with Irshad Ahmed finishing with 2 wickets for 8 runs as they reached their target.
Saturday 21 May
Old Hill (5 points) 164 lost to Old Elizabethans (24 points) 189 – 8 by 25 runs.
The Fourth XI played hosts to Old Elizabethans at Wassell Grove and having won the toss asked the visitors to bat and they posted a total of 189 – 8 wickets off their 45 overs with Jonny Baig Jnr and Iffy Ali taking 2 wickets each. Then Baig Jnr (32) and Ali (25) got Old Hill off to a good start before wickets began to tumble but some late resistance by Ryan Andrews (17), Kieran Daniels (17) and Captain Anthony Foster (17 not out) almost got them home. In the end, they suffered a narrow defeat falling 25 runs short of their target being all out for 164 in the 42nd over – a much better all round display.
Saturday 28 May
Old Hill (20 points) 122 – 8 beat Stourbridge (3 points) 119 by 2 wickets.
The Fourth XI won the toss and asked Stourbridge to bat first at Wassell Grove in very windy conditions and Old Hill produced a good all round performance to bowl the visitors out for 119 runs in 39.1 overs with Joel Foster (5 – 23) and Irshad Ahmed (2 – 15) being the leading wicket-takers. In reply, the hosts batted cautiously to reach 122 – 8 wickets in 37 overs to claim their first League victory of the season by 2 wickets. Jonty Preece top scored with 29.
Saturday 4 June
Ross-on-Wye (14 points) 244 – 4 drew with Old Hill (5 points) 166 - 5.
The Fourth XI game away at The Park was interrupted by rain during the Ross-on-Wye innings. However, they managed a formidable total of 244 – 4 wickets from their 45 overs. The visitors reply was reduced to a maximum of 36 overs and they were never in contention as they batted out for a draw finishing on 166 – 5 wickets. Ryan Dimmock (42) and Jonty Preece (32) top scored for Old Hill although their cause was not helped by the number of extras conceded, dropped catches and several dubious decisions.
Saturday 18 June
Bromsgrove (1 point) 104 lost to Old Hill (20 points) 105 – 4 by 6 wickets.
In another rain affected match at Bromsgrove the Fourth XI managed a positive result with a much improved performance. Having invited the hosts to bat first, Old Hill were soon amongst the wickets and thanks to good bowling by Irshad Ahmed (4 – 28), Lewis Javaid
(3 – 30) and Iffy Khan (2 – 16), Bromsgrove were bowled out for 104 in 30 overs. In reply, Old Hill made good progress and reached their target also in 30 overs for the loss of just 4 wickets with Jonty Preece (38) and Captain Irshad Ahmed (21 not out) seeing them home to victory and a welcome 20 point haul.
Saturday 25 June
Old Hill (24pts) 193-8 beat Claverley (2pts) 129 by 64 runs.
The 4th XI lost the toss at Wassell Grove and were put in to bat by Claverley. Openers Izzy Khan (59) and Anthony Foster (43) posted an opening stand of 83 before being parted and set the scene for a competitive home total of 193-8 wickets from 45 overs. Ryan Dimmock (32) and Irshad Ahmed (23) also batted well for the hosts. In reply the visitors also got off to a good start as they constructed a half century opening partnership but thanks to some brilliant
wicket keeping by Kieron Daniels and 4wkts for 20 runs off 11 overs by captain Irshad Ahmed, Old Hill bowled Claverley out for just 129 runs to win by 64 and complete a clean sweep of victories for Old Hill teams for the second time this season.
Saturday 2 July
Old Hill (24 points) 175 – 8 beat Cleobury Mortimer (5 points) 170 by 2 wickets.
The Fourth XI played out a roller-coaster game at Wassell Grove against Cleobury Mortimer with many twists and turns before finally coming out on top. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat but thanks to some top class bowling and fielding by Old Hill, they could only manage a total of 170 runs in 30 overs although they had looked to be in the driving seat at
96 – 1 off 17 overs. Pick of the bowlers was Izzy Khan who took 3 – 7 off 4 overs to add to his four outfield catches, closely followed by Captain Irshad Ahmed who took 2 wickets. Then, opening the Old Hill batting, Anthony Foster (49) and Izzy Khan (34) shared in an opening stand of 85 in 14 overs before the hosts found themselves with 8 wickets down and still 13 runs needed for victory in spite of a quick-fire 20 from Ahmed. Then, Lewis Javaid (9 not out) and Rob Lloyd saw Old Hill home to a brilliant third consecutive victory and a maximum 24 points.
Saturday 9 July
Halesowen (5 points) 167 lost to Old Hill (20 points) 170 – 8 by 2 wickets.
In their local derby at The Earls Ground, the Fourth XI played out yet another wildly fluctuating game against League leaders Halesowen. Having invited the hosts to bat first, Old Hill proceeded to bowl Halesowen out for 167 runs in 41 overs with Danny Clayes (4 – 45) and Izzy Khan (3 – 36) being the visitors best bowlers. Old Hill’s reply got off to a cracking start as Jon Baig Jnr scored 81 runs off 38 balls before a massive collapse left the visitors still needing 20 runs to win with just 2 wickets remaining. However, some sensible batting from Danny Clayes helped Old Hill across the line as they won the game with 18 overs left. This was their fourth consecutive victory.

Old Hill (5 points) v Hanley Castle (5 points) match abandoned.
The pitch at Wassell Grove where the Fourth XI were to play hosts to Hanley Castle was also waterlogged and again no play was possible.
Saturday 23 July
Old Elizabethans (18pts) 299-2 drew with Old Hill (4pts) 215-9
The 4th XI, having won the toss away at Old Elizabethans and invited the hosts to bat, but a combinations of poor ground fielding and dropped catches meant that Old Elizabethans were able to amass a mammoth total of 299-2 wkts off their 45 overs. Richard Price (100 n.o.) and Emile Martyr (114 n.o.) were both dropped before reaching double figures, before each went on to reach centuries for the home side. In reply Ifziaen Khan (58) and Ryan Andrews (33) were the leading scorers for Old Hill, but with 9 wickets down and still 10 overs remaining, some sensible batting by Keiron Daniels (29 n.o.) saw the visitors to a creditable draw as they finished on 215-9 wkts off their 45 overs.
Saturday 30 July
Stourbridge (24 points) 194 – 8 beat Old Hill (3 points) 124 by 70 runs.
The Fourth XI lost the toss away at Stourbridge as the very experienced hosts side chose to bat first in the sunshine and totalled 194 – 8 wickets in their 45 overs aided by a massive 47 extras. The visitors were forced to change their wicketkeeper at 20 overs but stand in Todd Hickman gave an excellent performance behind the stumps conceding just 1 extra in 25 overs. In reply, the inexperienced Old Hill side could only manage 124 all out in 33 overs with Heron Patel (5 – 32) being the hosts best bowler while Izzy Khan top scored for the visitors on 46 as Stourbridge won by 70 runs.
Saturday 6 August
Old Hill (24 points) 215 – 8 beat Ross-on-Wye (4 points) 148 by 67 runs.
Having been asked to bat by Ross-on-Wye at Wassell Grove, the Fourth XI set about posting a challenging total as Jon Baig Jnr (64) and Izzy Khan (33) put together a century opening partnership as Old Hill’s youngsters scored 215 – 8 wickets in their 45 overs. Rain then intervened and the visitors were given a revised target of 186 in 39 overs to obtain a winning draw. This task always looked beyond Ross as Captain Irshad Ahmed (4 – 19) and Lewis Javaid (3 – 25) backed up by some great fielding, particularly Keiron Daniels with a great all round performance with the bat gloves and in the slips, as the visitors were bowled out for 148 in 35 overs. This was Old Hill’s sixth victory in their inaugural season in W.C.L. Division 5.
Saturday 13 August
Barnt Green (17 points) 213 – 9 drew with Old Hill (5 points) 139 - 9.
The Fourth XI won the toss and asked Barnt Green to bat first in their away fixture at Cherry Hill Road and the home side scored 213 – 9 wickets from their 45 overs. Old Hill’s reply got off to a good start as Izzy Khan (35) and Ryan Dimmock (27) put together a stand of 78 runs. Unfortunately, when the stand was broken no other Old Hill batsman could get going and it was left to young Rob Lloyd to save the day with a dogged 14 not out as the visitors held on to a creditable draw.
Saturday 20 August
Old Hill (24 points) 272 – 5 beat Bromsgrove (2 points) 77 by 195 runs.
Having lost the toss, Old Hill were asked to bat first in their game against Bromsgrove at Wassall Grove and their batsmen made an excellent start to the innings. Leading the way was Izmah Khan (105 not out) with a magnificent century closely followed by Ryan Andrews (85) as the hosts posted a formidable total of 272 – 5 wickets off their 45 overs. The visitors batsmen never got to grips with the home bowlers as they ripped through the Bromsgrove line-up in just 29 overs to win by a massive 195 runs. Leading the charge for Old Hill were Ifziean Khan (4 – 17), Lewis Javaid (2 – 9) and Captain Irshad Ahmed (2 – 31). With the news that the Third XI had gained promotion earlier in the day, the Fourth XI could also celebrate elevation to Division 4 of the WCL Second XI competition.
Saturday 27 August
Claverley (6 points) 152 lost to Old Hill (24 points) 166 by 14 runs.
The Fourth XI travelled to Claverley and having lost the toss were invited to bat by the hosts and managed to post a competitive total of 166 off 42 overs with Ifziaen Khan top scoring with 47 not out. Webster took 4 – 35 for the hosts. In reply, Claverley were soon struggling on 63 – 5 wickets in the 17th over before P Lewis (43 not out) helped guide the hosts to 138 before they lost their 8th wicket but Ifziaen Khan (5 – 30) and Captain Irshad Ahmed (4 – 40) kept a tight reign on the Claverley batsmen and they were eventually bowled out for 152 at the end of the 40th over to give the Old Hill youngsters victory by 14 runs to cap an excellent first season in Division Five, finishing in sixth position in the League Table.
